I’m pretty sure we aren’t Irish. The best I can figure we’re good old American mutts. That doesn’t stop us from celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. I figure that if you can get snakes out of anywhere, even Ireland it’s worth celebrating.
Somehow leprechauns seem to find their way into our house the night before St. Patrick’s. One year they left green balloons. Another year, they got scared and dropped all their gold coins. This year they managed to write all over our windows. It was a good lesson for Hanan who has inadvertantly manged to write on many surfaces with her markers lately. There were pictures and messages for the girls all over the house.
We were also responsible for the celebrations at school. Since Arleigh and Hanan think cupcakes, formerly known as pupcakes are so last year, we got Krispy Kremes shaped like Shamrocks loaded with icing and sprinkles. They were served the green milk that the leprechans always leave. It was funny how many kids were completely disgusted.
Bria managed to survive another morning at school. I don’t know what we’ll do when she is out of her car seat. Right now she is perfectly happy being pushed all over the school. Of course, she gets so much attention she’s rotten.
I better get busy. We have Easter parties this week too. We don’t have Easter dresses yet. I think it’s time for piano. We don’t lack excitement around here.
