From the time that we brought Bria home, I’ve been amazed at her ability to sleep at night. She only chews on pacifiers so she won’t take one at night. She won’t drink from a bottle so there is no chance of the banana cereal bottles the other 2 lived for… She just slept. Hanan got up a couple of times a night until she was almost one. Arleigh was an alarm clock waking every morning at 5 a.m. It was rare that she slept through the night until she was almost 3.
Bria got herself on a night time schedule pretty quickly. She gets ready for bed as the girls get ready. A story, 2 prayers and brushed teeth later and Bria eats herself to sleep around 9. She was sleeping until 7. I kept thinking this is too good to be true. I don’t care that she has a hard time napping during the day. I couldn’t ask for a better sleeper. I wondered when it would change.
It has. I need to whine. For the last week Bria wakes up whining at night. Every two hours on the clock. I go into her room. Her eyes won’t open. Her whines could wake up the neighborhood. Her fists are shoved in her mouth. Could she be teething? I hope so. That means eventually it will stop. I wish those darn teeth would come already! I even tried letting her cry it out. That worked around midnight. By 2 she was at it again and this time there would be no crying it out. After 30 minutes, I couldn’t stand to listen to it anymore. I feed her she goes back to sleep, only to get up again at 4.
Yes, she was up at 6 with her sisters. She is still up. No one would have any idea that she was up all night with the squeals of laughter coming out right now. She’s enjoying the attention of her sisters before they have to go to school. If you look at me, there is all sorts of evidence that I’ve been up all night the last several nights. No way I’m posting that picture. It’s horrible.
