I’ve been blurking again… You know, lurking around on other people’s blogs. There’s one blog that I find myself going back to often. The mom was talking about how hard it was to watch her oldest go through something for the last time. I think she was referring to cub scouts, baseball, etc. It really stuck with me.
The last day of kindergarten is around the corner for Hanan. Arleigh is going to lose some of her very best friends this year because they are changing schools. I hope it won’t be the last time she sees Jake. Bria is wearing that outfit that she has lived in on cool spring days for the very last time.
I expect there will be lots of lasts as my girls grow. We have some firsts this week too. The big one was the tooth. Bria finally managed to get that tooth to pop through last night. There is another one right beside it trying to poke up. The girls have learned that it’s fun to feed Bria, if only for long enough for me to get their dinner on the table. They also taught themselves a new game to play together on the keyboard that is really helping them with their piano lessons.
All these firsts and all these lasts shoved together in the middle of a busy week. I’m sad that they are growing up and excited about the little ladies they are becoming. I hope I find a way to slow down and enjoy the first and the last of everything.
