We were blessed to be able to participate in Tye’s wedding this weekend. Even with the stress that a wedding always seems to bring, it was perfect. Everything was absolutely beautiful. I hope Julie and her mom know that all their preparation was well worth it.

You know I have to tell you about the stress though. Ray flew in from Europe on Wednesday night. We got in the van for 16+ hours in the car Thursday morning. Little did we know that Ray’s jet lag would come in handy. We planned to stop half way and break things up. Bria absolutely refused to sleep. In the pack ‘n play, she would scream at the top of her lungs. In our bed she talked…”Arleigh, Hanan, Mama, Daddy” and then jibberish in a very funny conversational tone. It’s cute for the first 5 minutes but it loses something at 3 a.m. when she’s been going at it for over an hour. So we got up around 4 and headed into St. Louis. The bonus was, we didn’t expect to arrive until the afternoon. We got there so early we showered and too the girls to see the arch. After the arch, we met up with family and headed over to the rehearsal dinner. Arleigh and Hanan were excited to have Aidan, Tori and Phia there with them. Before long, they were playing with Julie’s nephews too. Of course Bria was getting into the middle of everything. Ray was going downhill fast. The jet lag clearly kicked in. At one point I thought he might fall asleep in his cake.

Wedding day was very busy, hair done, 3 girls dressed, I managed to throw something on and we were off for pictures at the church. The ceremony was perfect. Well, perfect except for Bria konking her head on the pew and nearly knocking herself out. I watched the end of the ceremony through glass. I thought there would be a giant goose egg on her head. There is only a little bruise there now.

Then off to the reception. Arleigh was thrilled. It looked like a black and white ball. (Her favorite movie is Another Cinderella Story.) Julie was gorgeous. Of course, Tye was handsome. We danced until Bria passed out and Hanan almost did.

Hanan and Edward hit it off. They danced all night. Arleigh was more reserved. She wouldn’t even dance with Kendall. Bria danced with whoever would let her on the dance floor. At one point Ray scooped Arleigh and Hanan up for a slowdance and Edward hung on to Ray’s back. That was probably one of many favorite moments of the night.

Thanks Tye and Julie for including us in your special day. We had a wonderful time. We are so very happy to add Julie to the family.

Now on to some pictures. If I have time, I’ll post more later.
