So my big shiny Mac (AKA Big Mac) is not working. My IT team is away trying to earn money for the family. I’m sitting with this tiny little laptop to say, I might not be around for a couple of days. Things are about to get nutty around here.

This afternoon, I am going through the orientation process to start on all of our international paperwork. Tomorrow, Ray and I will meet with our social worker for an initial interview. Today, I’m running to the post office to try and renew my passport and get some baby gifts off to Virginia. Tomorrow I will try to get our background checks started since I’ll be on that side of town anyway.

I’m just getting started. I feel like I’m staring down a giant mountain that we are going to have to take on. I know to take it one step at a time. Right now it seems a bit overwhelming. I’m praying for friends waiting to hear about their second court date in Ethiopia. I think it seems like your stress must go up until you get your child safely in your home in their own bed. It’s giving me so much to think about and pray about.

In other news… Ray made a gorgeous outdoor dining table while I was gone. Big enough for all of us plus a couple of extras. I’m so excited. The weather was nice yesterday but we were so busy making chalk drawings, walking in the sunshine and eating dinner outside on our new table I didn’t take pictures. The rain has begun. The first sunny day I’ll show you how talented my husband is.

Have a great week. I’ll be back soon when Big Mac is fixed and I’m really freaked out after all of our orientations.
