Happy Year of the Rabbit!

I have no idea if that is what my title says or if it says something rather profane. I’ve seen it on more than one blog today though so I’m stealing going with it.

There is no small Chinese boy in our home right now. We generally look for any reason to eat the food of another culture or have fun with an obscure holiday. Why should CNY be any different? Unfortunately, we didn’t go all out. Maybe this weekend though.

Here’s how I celebrated…

All three were in school. In spite of the fact that the temperature has dropped more than forty degrees over the past week and snow is threatened on an hourly basis across my television…there was school. So I met a friend and went shopping. I hear that new clothes are one way to celebrate so check that off.

I loaded and unloaded the dishwasher from the dinner party we had before church last night. The house was straight because we had company just before church last night. After church the girls went directly to bed and then to school. I think that counts as starting off the year on the clean slate  and cleanish house. Check another box.

An old friend called us up. He was in town for a conference. Ray went down town to pick him up. I went to Gus’ World Famous Fried Chicken to pick up dinner. (You should know if my brother has read this, he’s drooling a little bit.) Dinner with a friend I haven’t seen since Hanan was about to turn 1 says  celebration enough for me. Box number three…check!

Three boxes checked means I’m off to bed. I’m hoping my children decide to sleep tonight since I’m pretty much zombified lately. Gōng Xǐ Fā Cái everybody. I really hope I didn’t cuss you. I’m off to bed.
