Yesterday I had an amazing opportunity to catch up with an old friend. When we were younger, I followed her around and maybe even got into a little bit of trouble. I think she was the one that I learned how to step up to a dare from. Apparently, it’s still happening.

I warned her not to step on sea urchins. She asked me what something was. This booger was pushed up under a rock. Between my vantage point and the reflection I said I thought it was a sea cucumber. She went to pick it up and said it was prickly. I told her not to grab it. If you get barbed by one it it’s not fun. You can gently pick them up from underneath. One double dog dare later…

It was nice to talk about home and share a little piece of my island with her. I should’ve checked my snorkel bag better though. I was down a mask. She nearly lost a flipper. There is something about a hot mess that makes an adventure a little more fun.

There’s just something about old friends. I haven’t been able to really hang out with her in almost 20 years. I laughed and said I might as well be 15 again. I can still tease her about a not great tattoo and gripe about what I need to gripe about. Even better to do it at the beach when our hometown is blanketed with snow. Thanks for the visit Lori. It was so much fun!
